MILK (SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS) ORDER , 1959.
231 Samples of Designated Milks were examined in the Laboratory.
Results were as follows
Aceredited Milk.
13 Samples were examined and 10 satisfied both the proscribed tests.
1 Sample failed to pass both the Methylene and Coliform tests.
2 Samples failed to pass the Cliform Test only.
Pasteurised Milk.
90 Samples were examined and 76 satisfied both the prescribed tests.
3 Samples failed to pass both the Phosphatase Tost and the
Bacterial Count standard,
3 Samples failed to pass the Phosphatase Test only.
8 Samples failed to pass the Bacterial Count Standard only.
Tuberculin Tested (Pasteurised) Milk.
50 Samples were examined and 42 satisfied both the prescribed tests,
8 Samples failed to pass the Bacterial Count standard only.
Tuberculin Tested Milk.
78 Samples were examine and 48 satisfied both the prescribed tests.
18 Samples failed both the Methylene Blue and Coliform Tests,
10 Samples failed to pass the Methylene Blue test only.

FOOD AND DRUGS ACT, 1958,
Samples of Bottle Washings were taken from Dairies in the Borough and
were examined in the Laboratory. Results were as follows:—
44 Samples wore examined and 25 pa3sod both the prescribed tests.
6 Samples failed to pass both the Bacterial Count Standard and the
Coliform test.
15 Samples failed to pass the Coliform tost only.
AMBULANCE FACILITIES.
The Council possesses four ambulances, housed at Willis Garage,Weir Hall, and the following figures give some idea of the work carried out during the year.
