of the district in the North Middlesex Hospital. The total deaths from phthisis
there numbered 39.
The other tubercular diseases together accounted for 20 deaths, giving a
death-rate of 0.26 per 1,000. It was 0.23 last year. Of these deaths, four
were residents of the district in the North Middlesex Hospital. The total
deaths from these diseases there numbered nine.
In this way, tuberculosis contributed a total death-rate of 1.14 per 1,000 of
our own population, or 12.4 per cent. of all the deaths, excluding strangers; it
was 1.02 last year.
The Women Inspectors paid to tubercular persons 518 visits and re-visits
during the year, compared with 237 the year before. The disinfection of the
room lately occupied by the patient, and of his clothes and bedding, is carried
out. There was, as before, some overlapping of visits with those of the County
official.
Tuberculosis Meat and Milk.—See Section VI., "Unsound Food."
Institutional Accommodation.—I have received the following
information with reference to this:—

Winchmore Hill, or Brentford.
2.—Epileptic Colony.—When found to be tubercular, a man is sent
back to his own area.
