INFECTIOUS AND OTHER DISEASES.
The Infectious Disease Notification and Prevention Acts have
been in force in this District since March 1st, 1891.
Table V. page 58 shows the number of cases notified and the
deaths from the notifiable diseases for 1904 and 10 preceding years.
The same table also shows the deaths that have occurred from the
non-notifiable infectious diseases for this period.
The coloured chart sets out diagramatically the number of cases
of infectious disease notified during each month of the year.
On Table III. page 49 will be found details as to age distribution
and locality of the notified cases, and the number of cases removed
to hospital from each ward.
* In calculating the infantile mortality Tor 1903, deaths due to premature
birth were included for the first time.
