MEAT AND OTHER FOOD INSPECTIONS
The requirements of the Public Health (Meat) Regulations, 1924,
have been carried out as regards all premises on which meat is sold for
human consumption. The inspection of food (other than meat) is carried
out as necessary.
As may be seen from the Table of foods surrendered as unfit during
the year a total amount of approximately 8 cwts. of food was condemned.
This was disposed of by burying, all meat and meat products being
stained first.

Of the above mentioned samples only three, viz., Double Cream Cheese,
Lobster Paste and the Bread were reported by the Public Analyst as
being unsatisfactory and I would like to comment briefly on these three
samples.
DOUBLE CREAM CHEESE
This was a sample of cheese sold at 5s. per pound and which at the
time the sample was purchased was clearly labelled "Double Cream
Cheese." The Analyst reported that the fat content was only 35.3 per
