Generally the amount of work which the Department has dealt
with throughout the year has shown an increase, although this is
not apparent in the Tables.
The Public Health Inspectors and the staff of the Department
have continued to show a high standard of efficiency and have a
good working knowledge of the new legislation. The Deputy Chief
Public Health Inspector, Mr. S. C. Smith, has given me great help
during the year and has carried out his duties with keenness and
enthusiasm.
In conclusion I wish to tender my thanks to the staff of the
Public Health Department and to other Officers of the Council
for their assistance and co-operation during the year.
