and is apparently continuing to do so. The number of visits made
in a year are in themselves a very poor guide as the time taken per
visit cannot be assessed nor can the amount of office work involved.
The Public Health Inspectors are continuing to maintain a high
standard of efficiency and although several new Acts, etc., have come
into force entailing considerable study, they have spared no effort
to keep themselves up to date in both theory and practice. In conclusion
I wish to tender my thanks to members of the staff of the
Department and other officers of the Council for their assistance
and co-operation throughout the year.
