I am still not satisfied that medical reasons are given sufficient
extra points on the rehousing list, and this belief is being constantly
pressed.
There is a steadily increasing number of personal callers at the
department asking for advice on various health and sanitary
problems, as well as the usual number calling to register complaints.
These callers have, I believe, in the majority been satisfied with the
help and advice they have received and the public relations activities
have become an increasing part of the department's duties.
My most sincere thanks to all members of my staff for their
usual untiring patience and perseverance throughout the year,
and to the Chief Officers and staff of other departments of the
Council for their help and co-operation in all problems put to them
by the Public Health Department.
C. M. SCOTT.
