There was a decrease in the number of inspections as compared
with last year of 941. This was due to the absence through illness of
one of the Sanitary Inspectors who was away from duty for three
months, and to the decrease in the number of visits to the homes
of applicants for Council houses from 502 to 99, this work having
been transferred to the Housing Department.
