Smallpox.
No cases of this disease were notified during the year.
Tuberculosis.
A table is given showing new cases and mortality during
1936.
Whenever possible all cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis
likely to benefit are sent to the County Sanatorium at Ware. In
every case thorough disinfection of premises, etc., is carried out
as soon as the patient has been removed.
Measles.
The employment of a temporary nurse for dealing with cases
of difficulty and distress during Measles and other epidemics is
very desirable. In view of the possibility of having supplies
of convalescent and adult serum at our disposal in the near future
I would strongly urge the District Council to include measles at
all ages in the list of notifiable diseases.
Reference has already been made to the additional measures
we propose to adopt in dealing with outbreaks of epidemic
disease.
