On the 1st February, 1970, the Road Safety Act of 1967 requiring a special medical
examination for drivers of heavy goods vehicles came into operation.
During the year, 46 Council drivers were examined prior to the renewal of their
licences.
VACCINATION AND IMMUNISATION OP STAPP
Vaccination against smallpox and immunisation against typhoid fever and tetanus are
offered to members of the health department staff who are at risk.
The number of vaccinations and immunisations carried out during 1969 was as follows:-
