RAW MILK SUPPLIES - BRUCELLA ABORTUS
There is only one farm engaged in milk production in the borough. As a result of a
request from the Public Health Laboratory Service, sampling of raw milk for the detection
of brucella abortus organisms was carried out directly from the farm during 1970. A
total of 18 samples was taken and all were found to be negative for this organism by the
ring test.
ICE CREAM
During the year 18 premises were added to the register for the sale and storage of
ice cream and one for manufacture leaving a total at the end of the year of 508 premises
registered for sale and storage and 9 premises for manufacture.
