MEASUREMENT OP AIR POLLUTION
Daily volumetric instruments for measuring smoke and sulphur dioxide in the air ana
deposit gauges for monitoring local emissions were maintained in operation during the
year.
The overall figures for the daily volumetric instruments show an average reduction
compared with last year of 24% in the amount of smoke and 26% in the amount of sulphur
dioxide in the air.
The deposit gauge figures show an overall 15% increase in airborne particles.
