SCHOOL HEALTH
The number of immigrant school children at the end of the year in relation to the total school child
population was as follows:-
Total school population 41,998
Total immigrant population in schools 8,346
Indians and Pakistanis 4,626
West Indians 2,349
Others 1,371
As part of the Council's tuberculosis prevention service the heaf testing of all immigrant children on admission to school has continued and the figures for 1968 compared with the previous year are as follows:-
