Ministry is now asking local authorities to note that it is not now
necessary to make this restriction. I feel this circular is most opportune
as I have for some time been disturbed by the very poor state of the
bedding being laundered by the Council's laundry service for the
incontinent. Indeed, some articles described as draw-sheets are in fact
little more than rags, and I have felt that the provision of disposable
material would be far more satisfactory than washing such articles. The
Personal Health Services Committee will be considering this circular
early in the New Year.
