ORTHOFAEDIC CLINICo
Mr. J.A. Cholmeley, the OrthoFaedic Consultant, reForts:-
"The number of school children seen and treated at
the Ealing OrthoFaedic Clinics in 1961 was less than in
1960 but the number of Fre-school children attending
during these two years showed an increase. This indicates
that the general health and Fhysique of the school children
was good but at the time demonstrates the necessity
to see the young children and infants also at the clinics.
Thus the early diagnosis of conditions such as congenital
club foot or dislocation of the hiF is so imFortant for
their efficient treatment that it is essential to see
these cases in early infancy, even within a few days of
birth.
Early recognition and treatment of abnormalities,
whether congenital or acquired, the Frevention of deformities
and the correction of abnormal function is a most
imFortant asFect of the work of the clinics and can have
a marked influence on the function, health and haFFiness
of the children concerned.
