HOUSING REPAIRS AND RENTS ACT, 1954
During the year 2 applications for Certificates of
Disrepair and 2 applications for Certificates of Disrepair
to be revoked were granted by the Council.
RENT ACT, 1957
This Act came into operation in July 1957 and the
rather complicated procedure laid down has necessitated a
great deal of time having to be devoted to explanations
to owners and tenants. A sub-committee of the Public
Health Committee was appointed to deal with applications
for Certificates of Disrepair and each application is
fully considered prior to action being taken.
The following table gives details of applications
received for Certificates of Disrepair during the year:
