Modern Schools where plimsolls are worn, are inspected every term.
The figures obtained so far indicate no higher incidence in the schools
with barefoot dancing, though further numbers are required for
satisfactory statistical results. If barefoot dancing is not the main
source of infection it must be sought elsewhere. In consequence all
children found with such infection of the feet are now asked to
complete a questionnaire relating to many things, such as type of
sock and shoe worn, washing agent for the socks, amount of
swimming, etc.
Dr. D. Craigmile, who was in charge of Foot Health in Ealing
for several years, left to go to Birmingham at the beginning of 1954.
Dr. Hollman has taken her place in Ealing and is continuing her
work and investigations into foot health problems.
