An important adjunct which has become indispensable and
which is carried out with such quiet efficiency that it tends to pass
unnoticed is the repair of garments.
This was again organised by Miss Gerty, Secretary of the Old
Peoples' Welfare Committee of the Ealing Council for Social
Service. Miss Gerty was assisted by members of the Ealing Townswomen's
Guild and the Catholic Women's League (Ealing Section).
They carried out repairs for several hours every Wednesday
morning throughout the year.
Many thanks are due both to Miss Gerty and to her willing
helpers.
Finally, it is extremely gratifying to be able to mention the
receipt of many letters of thanks and appreciation from relatives
and friends of patients helped by the Service.
