The Mass X-Ray unit visited the Borough on four occasions
for the purpose of examining contacts. At the request of the
management they also made a protective factory survey at the
Glaxo Laboratories, Greenford. A total of 938 persons at this
factory were examined, of whom 7 required further investigation.
This does not necessarily indicate tuberculosis.
The static Mass X-Ray unit established at Central Middlesex
Hospital continues its valuable work. Expectant mothers attending
the ante-natal clinics in the Borough have a routine X-ray of chest
done here, and other groups who are at special risk or who come
into close contact with children are also examined.

The following table shows the age and sex of the cases notified and the deaths in 1953.
