Total number of attendances at Minor Ailments Clinics9,5053,877

The number of attendances at Minor Ailment Clinics has
dropped considerably since last year. This is a not unexpected
(but possibly temporary) effect of the National Health Service Act
which has provided children with free treatment by general
practitioners. In those clinics much time is devoted to dealing
with special cases, e.g. ascertainment of handicapped pupils, as
distinct from medical treatment.
