In conjunction with the Education Authority a scheme was
introduced for a practical course of training in Mothercraft to
be given to the pupils of Modern Secondary Schools by the Staff
of the Day Nurseries. For an experimental period it was arranged
for senior girls from Costons School to attend Stanhope Day
Nursery. So successful was this that the scheme has now been
extended to include all Secondary Modern Schools in the Borough.
Changes in the staff included the resignation of Dr. Dorothy
Taylor, Senior Assistant Medical Officer, after 15 years' service,
on her appointment as a Principal Assistant Medical Officer to the
Middlesex County Council. Also the retirement of Miss Farrow,
Senior Health Visitor, after 26½ years' service.
