There is no evidence that the children, whether of school age
or under school age, are suffering from war-time conditions ; on the
contrary the impression gained on coming into touch with large
groups of children in the schools and at the Health Centres is that
the level of nutrition and health is higher than before the war,
a result which no doubt is due to the steps wisely taken by the
Government in various directions to guide the mothers as to a
suitable diet and to provide necessary protective foodstuffs.
