Seven samples of ordinary untreated milk were submitted for
examination at the Lister Institute for the presence of tubercle
bacilli. In no sample was this organism discovered.
Meat and Other Foods.—There were no infringements of
the Public Health (Meat) Regulations.
No meat is sold from stalls in the Borough.
There are three private slaughterhouses and the following
table gives the number of animals slaughtered in the course of
the year.

All the animals were stunned by means of a humane implement.
There is no public slaughterhouse in the Borough.
