SUPERVISION OF MIDWIVES.
During the year 42 midwives notified their intention to
practice within the Borough, this number including seven midwives
residing outside the district. This number excludes the midwives
on the staff of the Peri vale Maternity Hospital.

At the end of the year the number of midwives practising in the area was 41, as shown in the following table:—
