Maternal Mortality.—There were five maternal deaths
during the year, the maternal death-rate for the Borough being
2.00 per thousand births. The maternal death-rates in recent
years are shown in the following table from which it will be seen
that in recent years maternal mortality in the Borough has been
below the average for the country as a whole.
