INFANT LIFE PROTECTION (CHILDREN ACTS).
The visiting of children placed in the care of foster-mothers
is carried out by the Health Visitors, who have been designated
Infant Protection Visitors.
The following table gives information regarding foster-children
registered in the Borough during 1932 :—

Three deaths of fosterchildren were reported during the
year. In two cases a doctor was in attendance and certified the
cause of death, but in the third case a doctor had not been called in
and an inquest was held. A verdict of " Death from Natural
Causes " was recorded and the Coroner censured the fostermother
for not taking heed of the advice given by the Health Visitor. This
