Medical Inspection.
The inspections carried out at the schools in the Borough
included the following groups:—
1—Routine inspections as required by the Board of Education
as follows:—
(a) Entrants. — All children admitted to school for the first
time during the year.
(b) Intermediates.— All children eight years of age not
inspected in the previous year or reaching that age
before the end of the current year.
(c) Leavers.— Children twelve years of age not inspected.
in the previous or attaining twelve before the end
of the current year, together with those over that
age not previously inspected.
2.—Non-routine inspections as follows:—
(a) Children, not in the previously named routine groups,
presented by the head-teachers, school nurses, etc.,
for examination for some defect or suspected defect.
(b) Children requiring supervision on account of some defect
found at a previous routine or non-routine examination
3.— Annual Inspections at the schools or at the Health Centres
of:—
(a) Physically defective and
(b) Mentally defective children.
