Nine deaf mutes, two boys and seven girls, are maintained at
Special Schools.
At schools in the old Borough of Ealing there were twenty-one
feeble-minded children attending public elementary schools and
two were kept at home. Nine children, five girls and four boys,
were maintained at Residential Schools. When the boundaries
of the Borough were extended to include Hanwell and Greenford,
this list of feeble-minded children was increased by seven feebleminded
children attending school, two children who were at home
and six who were maintained at Special Residential Schools.
The question of providing special education for feeble-minded
children still attending the public elementary schools remains for
consideration and solution. During the year no further steps
were taken by the Education Committee in considering this
question.
