Officer's room. A wash-hand basin with hot and cold water
should also be provided in the Medical Officer's room. There is
sufficient furniture in the building to furnish the rooms generally.
"On the ground floor the hall should be widened out by
removing the wooden partition on the left side to give more space
and light. One room on the right with the enquiry counter attached
would be occupied by staff from the Borough Surveyor's and the
Borough Treasurer's Department. Two rooms on the right side
would form the dentist's room and waiting-room and two rooms
on the left side would be for the school nurse and the medical
officer, the hall serving as a waiting-room.
"The present lavatory accommodation would be reserved for
the staff. On the right side of the entrance hall separate lavatory
accommodation should be provided for mothers and for school
children. Further, wash-hand basins would be necessary for the
medical officer's and dentist's rooms. The Borough Surveyor
has estimated the cost of the alterations at £350, half of which would
be met by the Maternity and Child Welfare Committee.
