Ophthalmia Neonatorum .—There were five cases of ophthalmia neonatorum notified during the year. The following table shows that favourable results occurred in all the cases.

Tuberculosis.—In Table IX is indicated the number of new
cases of pulmonary and non-pulmonary tuberculosis notified during
the year in the whole of the extended area, together with the number
of deaths in the various age-groups. There were 70 deaths from
pulmonary and 9 deaths from non-pulmonary tuberculosis, which
give death-rates of 0.76 and 0.10 respectively, and a total tuberculosis
death-rate of 0.86 per 1,000 population. There were five deaths from
pulmonary tuberculosis in persons who had not been previously
notified: all were of persons dying outside the district, the
deaths being transferred to Ealing.
