General Practitioners appear to be alive to the necessity
of notifying cases of Tuberculosis and seldom
does one come across a case of failure to notify. Such
a failure is usually with regard to non-pulmonary
Tuberculosis.'
The supervision and treatment of cases of Tuberculosis
comes within the province of the County Medical
Officer. The first visit to all cases notified is made by
one of the Borough Health Visitors, who makes a report
on each case, a note being recorded of the home conditions
and the sanitary surroundings. Information is
then sent to the Tuberculosis Officer, acting under the
County Medical Officer, regarding the patient and at
the same time steps are taken by the Sanitary Inspector
to deal with any insanitary conditions in the house or
its surroundings.
