Arthur) and that of the School Health Visitor (Miss
Gough) have been productive of good results, as it will
be my duty to report to the Education Committee.

Public Works, etc.
It is my usual custom in connection with these
reports to make a few references to the important
subject of " Public Works," so far as they come under
my notice. It is a pleasure to state that, as is invariably
the case, the connection between the Borough
Surveyor and his staff and my department is very
helpful and harmonious, and 1 receive every assistance
I require. My personal experience of both the
Northern and Southern Works enables me to express
an opinion that the high standard of efficiency they
have so long been noted for is still maintained, and
every effort is made to keep them at the highest possible

insanitary character is dealt with at the works, where
not only is there no waste, but where no opportunity
is allowed for accumulations which might possibly
prove detrimental to health. It is gratifying, too, that
