WATER
The water supply is satisfactory in quality; although during the period
under review the quantity has been satisfactory there is some apprehension in
respect of the future.
During the year two chemical and two bacteriological samples were taken
from the company's mains in the borough; all were satisfactory.
The water is not liable to have plumbo - solvent properties and no action was
called for in respect of any form of contamination. Approximately .015 per cent.
of the inhabited houses and .009 per cent. of the population of the borough take
their water from standpipes.
