DENTAL SERVICES
The situation regarding the recruitment of dental officers showed some welcome
signs of improvement during the year. In the earlier part of the year another part-time
officer joined the staff, bringing the number of part-time officers to four and raising the
number of sessions worked to 14 per week. Towards the end of the year the services
of a full-time dentist were obtained. This enabled us to re-open the dental surgery at
Ford Road Clinic and to re-commence routine dental inspections in the schools served
by this clinic.
Treatment was also carried out at the Bentry Special School in the temporary dental
surgery set up there as described in last year's report.
