There was a total attendance of 300 adolescents—making an average of 11.5 per
session.

Mrs. Rose Hacker (Marriage Guidance Council) on sex education
Dr. Joyce (London Hospital) on V.D.
Miss Richards (Dagenham Borough Council) on care of the aged.
Miss Wright on the place of godparents in society.

Motherhood and fatherhood
Hygiene in the home

Care of the skin and clothes
Other topics:
Preparation for marriage (sociological aspect)

Separate discussion for the older girls on sex and marriage
Short talks by the girls were given on the following topics:
Butterflies and moths
Athletics
Care of pet animals.
The majority of the topics discussed this year were chosen by the girls at the beginning
of the session and we were again impressed by the interest these girls take in subjects
dealing with the care of babies and young children. We were gratified that several of
our "old girls" now working have returned to tell us about their jobs.
On the whole this has been a fairly satisfying year but Miss Millbank and myself
feel that some regular assistance by another member of the staff would enable us to do a
little more individual work with the girls. With the somewhat larger groups and the
wider age range i.e. 11 to 16 years, we find it advisable on some occasions to divide the
