DIPHTHERIA IMMUNISATION

II—Whooping Cough
1,091 children received immunising doses against Whooping
Cough including boosting doses. Of these, 227 children received
combined Pertussis-Diphtheria injections.
Poliomyelitis
Following notification by the Ministry that supplies of Poliomyelitis
vaccine would be available to local health authorities
during the year, a letter offering vaccination was sent to the
parents of all children between 2-9 years, and a form of registration
to be returned was attached.
Later in the year a small supply was sent to all areas and a selected group of children were offered vaccination.
