Samples are regularly taken at the three factories in the
Borough where filling materials are manufactured. The manufacture
of Rag Flock has continued to be satisfactory. One sample
of Cotton Felt had a trash content of 9% (the permitted maximum
is 7.5%); all other samples taken from this factory during the
year were satisfactory.
Forty-three samples (37 informal and 6 formal) were taken during the year. The details are as follows:—

Pet Animals Act, 1951
Six licences authorising the keeping of pet shops have been
renewed.
The conditions attached to the licences are those approved
by the Association of Municipal Corporations. Premises are
regularly inspected and no serious breach of the conditions has
arisen.
