Unsound Food.
On numerous occasions articles of food have been brought to the department;
instances are—mouse excreta in a piece of cake, a cigarette end in a loaf
of bread, a snail shell in a loaf of bread, grease in bread, a split pin in bread.
There were in all three successful prosecutions. In one case a fine of £5 was
imposed, and in two cases fines of £10. In other cases warning letters were
sent to the vendors,
