It will be noticed that only six cases occurred in
persons under the age of 35 years. The total number of
79 was arrived at by scrutinizing the death returns as
they were received. The Registrar-General assigns
85 deaths from Cancer to this district, 36 being males
and 49 females.
It was mentioned in my last report that owing to
the ageing of the population an increase in the cancer
death rate might be expected; experience has justified
this view.
