The success attending the above augurs well for the
time when a health week and exhibition is held in the
district. It will be remembered that provisional arrangements
were made for this purpose in 1935, but owing to
there not being a hall of sufficient size to accommodate
the exhibition, it was decided to postpone the event
pending the building of suitable premises.
Birth Control Clinic.
A Birth Control Clinic under the auspiccs of a
voluntary committee is held once a fortnight. The
Local Authority makes a per capita grant to this body
for persons who attend in whom pregnancy would be
detrimental on medical grounds.
During the year
payments amounting to £16 2s. 6d. were made for this
purpose.
