The consumption of "Pasteurised" milk is continuing
to increase, and I think it is a fair statement to
say that the exclusive use of milk so treated would go
far to prevent milk-borne diseases, of which there are
many.
Milk Sampling.
During the year, 136 samples of milk were analysed.
The following table shows the result of these analyses.
The numbers in the last column indicate, for comparison,
the totals in the various counts for the year 1929.

(b) Meat and Other Foods.
Meat Inspection.
There are four slaughter-houses in the district,
one licensed and three registered. To these a total of
864 visits was paid during the year. The carcases
inspected numbered 2,774.
The following details show the extent of unsoundness
existing in these animals, all of which were
surrendered :—
