Dental Treatment.
10 extraction sessions were held, at which 136 children were
treated and 153 mothers, making a total of 324 attendances. A
charge is made for each case (not per attendance), the amount
depending upon the financial circumstances of the family. The
amount received was £12 2s. 3d., and the nett cost of this service
was £35 5s. Id.
Dentures are provided, usually only to those cases referred from
the ante-natal clinic. The amount recovered as patients' contributions
was £12 19s. 9d. leaving a sum of £168 3s. 6d. as the cost
to the Council.
Convalescent Home.
20 mothers and children were admitted to convalescent homes
at a cost of £156 lls. 8d.

for the disease from which the patient is recovering is sought before
the final selection is made. Close co-operation with the local
branch of the Invalid Children's Aid Association has been
maintained for this purpose and I am pleased to record our thanks
to this Association for their valuable help.
Other Provisions.
One child under 5 years of age was supplied with spectacles
at a cost of 8s. 6d.
One child was maintained at the Royal Sea Bathing Hospital,
Margate, at a cost of £90 4s. 2d.
