At the end of the year there were 11 premises registered as

Verminous Premises.
A problem which has long confronted Sanitary Authorities
throughout the country, and has not, owing to the finger of scorn
being pointed at the harbourer of vermin, received the consideration
that such evil merits, is now being tackled in every way possible.
In this district, disinfestation is undertaken by the Local
Authority in the case of occupied houses, by means of Sulphur
Dioxide. Two applications are given at intervals of 10 or more
days, all woodwork having previously been pulled away from the
walls and carefully gone over with a blowlamp.
