It was found that the attendances at Marks Gate Infant
Welfare Centre did not warrant the continuance of that clinic,
and an arrangement was made whereby residents in the Hog Hill
and Marks Gate part of the area were conveyed by the Council's
motor vehicle to the welfare centre at Chadwell Heath.
Owing to the continued growth of the new housing estate at
Rush Green, the Council purchased two adjoining houses in
Dagenham Road and converted them into a public building for
use of the Public Health, Rating and Public Libraries departments;
the rooms available for a clinic are a waiting room, weighing room,
consultant room and convenience. A resident caretaker lives
on the first floor. The attendances have been steadily mounting
since the clinic was opened.
The following is a summary of the various other clinics held
in the district:—
School Clinics.
A Minor Ailment Clinic is held each morning from 9 to 10 a.m.
at the Dagenham and the Recontree Clinics and at King George
Out-Patient Department. In addition, an Inspection Clinic is
held on Monday mornings at the Dagenham Clinic, on Wednesdays
at the Recontree Clinic and at the Out-Patient Department on
Friday mornings.
