It will be noted that in most cases there is no very large
departure in the local rates, the figure in almost all cases falling
within the range of variability of the corresponding figures for the
other localities. The only exceptions appear to be the rate for
males of ages 15-24, which is higher than the corresponding rate in
the other districts, and the rate for females of 25-34. The high
figure for the males of 15-24, is due to a high death rate in 1932.
in which year tuberculosis and violence caused, between them,
more than half the deaths.
