Social Conditions of Inhabitants.
There has been little change in the occupation of inhabitants
of the district, most of whom find their employment outside the
area. The factories in the southern industrial area have not,
apparently, drawn much of their labour from the locality. Imported
labour has resulted in a large measure of sub-letting of premises
in this and adjoining districts. A number of houses are being
erected by private enterprise in separate portions of the district
and will, no doubt, meet the demand for these workers.
