MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE.
Notification of Births.
2,049 notifications of live births were received during the
year (male 1,044, females 1,005).
409 notifications (including still births) were received from
medical practitioners and parents, and 1695 front midwives.
In addition, information was received of 166 births outside
this area.
