Health Education Staff and one Health Visitor spoke at ten ParentTeacher
Meetings. The involvement of parents is stimulating and vital to
the success of Health Education in schools.
Students from the Royal Dental Hospital School of Hygiene continued
with their health education training in the Health Education Section and
with teaching practice in eight Infant and Junior Schools.
The now regular annual Inservice Training Session for Professional
Staffs on "Drug Dependency" was held again in the Denning Hall and conducted
by Dr. Dale Beckett, Consultant Psychiatrist at Cane Hill Hospital.
There is now a considerable amount of information available about
health education but much remains to be done so that, for teachers, the
subject enjoys parity of concern and esteem.
