The creation of another social worker post this year has facilitated
the division of the clinic service into four geographical areas, and when
the appointment is made each of our four social workers will liaise with
the corresponding quadrants of the new Croydon Social Service organisation.
This refinement in co-ordination should promote a rationalised link
with all other statutory social agencies in the borough. In fact 1971 may
be seen as the beginning of a new era in the history of the Croydon Child
Guidance service, a year in which fundamental administrative developments
have been accompanied by the promise of considerable concrete
resources.
This report would not be complete without an expression of thanks to
Dr. S.L. Wright, Principal School Medical Officer, Mr. K.G. RevelI, Chief
Education Officer and Mr. C.H. Langley, Group Secretary to the Croydon
and Warlingham Park Hospital Group Management. The administrative
support of their respective departments has been greatly appreciated
by the clinic staff.

Dental decay is a viral disease which, on a national scale, has got
completely out of control. Every survey published points to the fact that
