12 cases were awaiting permanent hospital vacancies on 31st
December 1962
Pour patients were placed under the guardianship of the
Local Authority, bringing the total to eighteen.
Residential Accommodation
Long Term
Financial responsibility was accepted by the Corporation in
respect of the maintenance of one severely subnormal girl in a
Home outside Croydon.
Hostel
One subnormal girl was admitted to a Hostel for a trial
period.
Other
Seventeen severely subnormal patients (seven males, ten
females) are placed in foster homes supervised by the Guardianship
Society. Information concerning patients Boarded out under
the Council's scheme appears later in this report.

It was decided to split the existing Nursery group and make
half into a Special Care Group. This took place in February, and
has proved well worth while.
